A Bit Of A Lemon

Day 106 of 365. Today's shot is, literally and figuratively, a bit of a lemon. I really struggled today for a shot but then saw this rather sad half of a lemon all alone on the kitchen table. I'm not usually a fan of the flavour of lemons but it is absolutely essential for one thing - fish and chips. I make my own fish and chips at home, including the beer batter for the fish, and it is just not the same without a squeeze of fresh lemon. The only problem with making your own fish and chips at home is the sheer mess you get into with the batter - it goes everywhere, or it least it does when I make it!
Another thing I love with fish and chips is harissa mayonnaise - sounds strange but works superbly. Two teaspoons of harissa paste mixed with four tablespoons of mayonnaise - bloody fantastic!
