FINALLY!

Well the white elifunk is in the water!
When they tied the straps round it and the crane took the strain, my heart was in my mouth when I saw no1 son standing underneath the bloody boat still painting it! My only son, bearer of the family name and future hope to maintaing our ancient clan! One slip & he would be flattened! Then suddenly up & up it went then was swung over like a giant albatross then ever so gently they lowered her into the water. Ok so I inwardly said a Hail Mary (or two) no make that a decade or two!
The straps loosened, there she lay in Loch Fyne, Fecking rudder as my son calls it fixed in place, a couple of pulls of the cord & the Dinnet engine coughed into life & then they were off. 2 feet, 3 feet, I inwardly measured the distance from the pier like some eco finder! Then they were well & truly out away from dry land chugging round the bay.
I legged it over to the pontoon she was going to come to round the end of the pier only there was no sign of her!! panic! is she sunk, have the gone aground already then I heard the familiar chug chug of the wee Dinnet engine & there she appeared like the graceful wee duck swan that she was! (Im getting carried away here!)
Anyhow they made it to the damn pontoon & was I glad. Out came the bubbly and it was shared all around. DJ was in total control of the launch, the steering etc & and I was well proud of my no 1 son whom at that moment for me had become the man I had hoped he would be. Yes I did feel a bit emotional when father & son shook hands especially as this would never have happened had DJ not put his heart & soul into fixing it and he's still got plans for it. Off no2 daughter & I went to get bits & bobls for captain Pugwash & his wee boaty.
I will upload more photos on my flicker site and add a link later
