Goodrich castle

On the journey to Wales this weekend we stopped off at Goodrich castle, pretty much right on the border with England. It was a beautiful day today; this is the view from the top of the castle. The ruins were more intact than a lot of other castles we've been to, there was even evidence for the original portcullis mechanism which is apparently very rare. Had fun exploring up narrow spiral staircases and walking round the moat. Found a couple of beetles too! Looking forward to checking out the waterfalls near Neath over the weekend.
