Day on the beach

We spent the day on the beach today. Kids wore shorties for uv protection and to reduced the amount of shivering that ensues after swimming. It worked. The mermaid was in and out of the water all day without hardly a whimper.

We spent ages playing with the bat and ball we invested £3 in yesterday. The kids swam (well C did, W did at least not fall over in the waves today) and then built another volcano.

As the tide came in, they did a job worthy of the British engineering background they come from. They built a moat and walls around the volcano and continued to excavate as other kids abandoned their creations to the sea. It was only as we called them to come and get changed to go back that the sea overwhelmed the volcano.
