Bog Trotting

I knew there was a reason I didn't blip the Bog Beacon on Wednesday. I reasoned thusly: we have quite close to us a small Yorkshire Wildlife Trust reserve called Agden Bog.; if there is presently Bog Beacon on Longshaw estate, there may very well be the same fungus at the local bog. And the wren would not be so easy to capture again. Not that Bog Beacon is easy to photograph. It involves wellie wearing and wet wipes, and helps if you have reasonable balance, which I am not blessed with. So today, I proudly give you Mitrula paludosa, the aptly named Bog Beacon. It's a bit of a twofer, as you get a bit of what I think is some kind of Water Crowfoot thrown in.
Happy Easter to one and all.
