Mostly successful....

The firing was - mostly successful - given the fact that i was working with colours that were untried previously, a decoration technique that was just a small idea...
i feel like there was some success with this firing! Some of the colour combinations were just way too much, some were too intense.....some worked really well, but there's lots here to work with, which is the point of experimenting, right!!!

But the main thing is the kiln fired without a hitch, other than it took too many hours..... tonights kiln load is on right now, and i've been able to look at what the first results were like and make modifications! Lots of tinkering with colours, composition of new sponge decorations now to play around with...which feels just fine.

Feeling pretty tired right now cos we ended up taking a lot longer to get the 2nd one loaded, due to unforeseen small kiln repairs and other odd interuptions...so, i'm off to bed, the 2nd kiln is firing, it'll finish sometime mid morning friday.... and it'll be opened on saturday morning!
