out of the shadows

Wood for the trees.....

I took this out of the window of the car while we were driving along.
I like the way the movement has softened all the hard edges.
In some of the other pictures, the foreground was blurred,
but the trees in the distance were sharp and focused

It got me to thinking that sometimes we all need a little distance to see things more clearly.
The closer you are to something, the more difficult it is to sort out what the important parts are that make the picture clearer and what is just extraneous noise and blur that serves only to confuse and frighten us.

Some distance allows us to see more clearly and helps us gain some perspective.
It enables us to work out what is real and what is merely a shadow that will disappear if we change our position slightly or clear things away to let in more light.

Change is constant, there is no doubt about that
but if we can keep a clear framework in our heads and hearts then surely we can finally find the wood in amongst the trees
