However! at the junction of Hessel Street and Eccles New road, is this real relic of our Salford and Manchester past.
This, is a "Hadfields" patent Hecla Tramway Point.! (Honestlly - its worth following up in the internet)
Significant because, it is still visible, with track, on Hessel Street. Most of Hessel street is cobbled.
Hessel Street runs by the side of what was Salford Tram depot, now partly offices and posh apartment accommodation.
Significant because running along Eccles New Road is the new and improved greater Manchester Transport Tram system recently installed, where the old tramway of the late victorian era was scrapped.
There's not a lot thats new in the world...
