Cushioned

A lovely pincushion which my friend Eloise received as a gift from one of her students that she had in a sewing group several years ago.

Eloise told me that the women in the sewing group had all experienced domestic violence and some of them had also been forced to work as seamstresses in appalling conditions. In her sewing group they had the freedom to sew whatever they liked - no one was forcing them to do anything, it was a time and place just for them.

There is much sewing, sticking, snapping, writing etc going on amongst the Norwich Dandies at the moment as we all prepare for DandiFest! Set up day is in just over a week's time! DandiTastic!
