Leaf It!

Er…I was in no position to Leaf anything as this was virtually a drive by shooting when The Boss drove onto this reserve by the lake front, jumped out with his camera, took the shot and jumped back in to drive off. I think he was suffering a bit from Warbirds Weekend Syndrome which means that he was at the Supermarket at 8.30 this morning along with all the other locals when it was possible to get a park in the carpark without swords at 10 paces and the supermarket was not filled with blokes and blokesses standing staring at the shelves and deciding what to have for dinner.
This is the one aspect of living in a place like Wanaka. Everything gets bad when a “special Event” happens and with Warbirds the 6000 population can swell to 50,000 and everything can stop working for the weekend. The last big sporting event earlier in the year caused the Cellular system to grind to a halt and it is a hard business decision to design systems for 3 days out of 365 but on the plus side I suppose it is good for the local economy if not necessarily good for the locals.
The Boss is NOT going to stand in the cold and watch aeroplanes this weekend but there will be a few that will. He is still complaining about having to park several blocks away from Thursday Coffee morning rather than outside. Oh the pain and suffering.
He could have taken his often muttered advise to ME and said “Leaf It” But instead suffered further insult as the tourists had taken their usual table in the Café too….Sigh.
