A sprig of beauty

I am really enjoying the variety of flowering trees that are blooming right now and this one was no exception. I had art class today and the teacher brought a bunch of this in for someone to sketch. After class he offered it to anyone who wanted to take it home with them to do so. A few of us took some sprigs and I put mine in water when I got home. Maybe I'll be lucky enough to grow some roots and plant one of my own. Meanwhile it looks very nice on my piano.
Today I woke up to some snow on the lawn! It wasn't a lot but considering that we were walking around in sandals and shorts a few days ago, it was quite shocking. Thankfully my plants outside have managed to hold up okay. The sun was shining today so I hope it was enough to warm them up because tonight is going to dip down near freezing again. Crazy weather!
I got some of my shopping done for my holiday dinner this afternoon. I still have more to do tomorrow. Setting up tables and chairs will be Friday and cooking will start Saturday. Everyone is contributing a little something so it really won't be too bad.
