The Old and the New.

I noticed today that we have lots of wriggly tadpoles in the pond, they're close to hatching now and spring, although several weeks behind the south of England, is creeping in. Roslin is always later than the surrounding area, it's fairly high and windy as well as being further north. Some years ago, I sold a colony of bees to a friend in the great metrolops; he had a crop of honey from them before I'd stopped feeding mine so that they'd survive until the first nectar.

I found this dog rose in the garden and the contrast between the new green growth and the old wrinkled hips attracted me. I was a bit windy for outdoor close-ups so a shoot was brought indoors for the blip.
