Three Little Monkeys

Another fun day out .. this time to Mugdock Country Park near Strathblane.

Today we had another little bundle along with us - Josh, our friend's wee boy. He's great fun, but I'd forgotten how potentially clumsy 3 year old's are. You're particularly sensitive to the fact when they're someone elses and in your care. After the face plant in the mud in the obstacle course I wasn't going to take any chances. "Josh, no running!" .. I think I shouted that a 100 times as he followed my 10 year old daughter enthusatically and with total abandon along rooty, rocky tracks, past spiky branches, and through grass punctured like a minefield with rabbit holes...

And then we were in Mugdiock Castle - a ruined structure covered with signs optomistically asking kids not to climb on the structures. "Josh, no running!! Wait for me!" I shouted as he hurtled towards the gap in the wall a lot less elegantly than his 10 year old mentor.

Afterwards, I asked him if he had fun. "Yes" was the reply. He answers this to most questions, but I could tell he was paying attention and meant it. Cheers Josh, me too...
