Auschwitz

Visited Auschwitz 1 and 2 sites today. Auschwitz 1 is the smaller of the concentration camps however the displays are much more striking than Birkenau (Auschwitz 2) mainly because the exhibitions are just overwhelming which showcases things like human hairs to prisoners belongings. It paints a harsh yet vivid picture of the hideous crimes that were committed in these camps. Birkenau is the largest concentration where mass gas chambers were used. It's a peaceful site now but seeing and hearing stories of what would have happened about 70 years ago is just sad. A very emotional experience, captured this shot looking out towards the Mens quarter. The site was bombed along with the chambers to cover up Nazi crimes. A must once in a life experience for all.
