Kings Court, Falkirk
The centre of Falkirk contains a few narrow streets or wynds that pre-date today's modern town centre. Every so often I take a break from shopping and explore some of these. Today was a case in point.
According to Falkirk Local History Society: "Kings Court is the best preserved example of the many courts, wynds and closes which once distinguished Falkirk High Street. This area takes its name from the Kings Arms which stood here in the 19th Century and it was here that James Aitken began practice as a solicitor in the late 1700s." A legal company called Russell+Aitken still trade in the area.
