A Good Report

There is nothing Christmasy or seasonal about this journal page today, but it is one huge HOORAY! We took Bob dog back to the doggie eye doctor this afternoon for a re-check to learn how the meds are helping or not.

The doctor's technician stepped in and asked to have Bob put on the examination table. So it was my job to again lift Bob dog (he hates to be lifted). I put a "whole body" hug around him and hoisted him up. He didn't moan, groan, or even nip at me. Whew!

Then the doctor stepped in and immediately suggested muzzling Bob to keep him from nipping. After the ordeal that muzzling caused last Friday morning, my heart skipped with fear. They handed me the cloth muzzle to put on him. I slipped it on quite easily with just a little bit of resistence and Bob dog calmed down quickly. I had so dreaded this moment and it was so much easier than I had thought.

The doctor looked deep into Bob's right eye and immediately explained that he was very pleased with what he saw and did caution that the eye is still severely damaged with an ulcer on the back of the eyeball, but said several times that it was obvious that Bob's "parents" had been faithfully administering the prescribed medicine. (Thank you Mr. Fun for loyally doing the meds 3-times a day in Bob's eyes.) The exam was completed quickly and the muzzle removed.

The doctor indicated that the situation was caught in time just before a serious rupture happened. He did inform us that if anything goes wrong with that eye we are to phone them immediately 24/7 to bring Bob in for help.

Thank YOU to all the Blip friends who wrote comments last Friday wishing us well and concerned for Bob. We wanted you to know about this good report. So even though this is not seasonal, for us, it is significant.

Good night from Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol

P.S. We had just enough time in the examination room without the doctor or his assistant that we clicked the camera several times. Is that the sign of a true Blipper?
