Roof Replacement--Paris 13e

Work on a small third-story roof just opposite us, taken from our fourth floor apartment. It's just the left half of a two-unit building. There are just these two men, who've been at work at least since our first morning back from Amsterdam (13/4). Their only access is by the narrow ladder, which is laterally secured below the frame of this image, and they use a simple pulley to hoist things up. View this large for maximum detail.

In winter 2012 an entire third floor was added to the building just behind and to the left of this one; here's the series of my blips of that project, and this image gives a much broader view, with the two buildings on the left.

It's a fascinating area, in Paris's 13th arrondissement, and we feel fortunate to be regularly here.
