Mistakes are the mother of invention (in Florence)
Another fun day of looking after a poorly child while trying to cook. Today's tasks (on the culinary side) included chocolate truffles (vanilla, Baileys and, erm, chocolate flavour) and florentines.
The florentines were a bit trickier than I remembered, so I now have slightly fewer than planned, and a box full of broken up bits of florentines to be made into my newly invented Christmas florentine bites. Which, given the amount of time I'm spending outdoors at the moment, you'll probably be seeing here tomorrow.
Conor's still not ready to rejoin the ranks of the well, and he even had to miss his nursery Christmas concert today where he was due to play 2nd mince pie. Perhaps tomorrow we'll get beyond the front door.
