A Day of Mixed Emotions

Today I had the strangest up and down hour I have had for a while.

I had a late lunch to watch little R sing in the nursery nativity, she was superb. I was a big proud daddy.

When I was leaving to go back to work I met a friend in the playground, her wee girl is A's class. She looked dreadful and she usually looks so upbeat, I asked what was wrong. Her husband fell down the stairs last night and is currently in St Johns with multiple fractures including a broken neck. I just can't comprehend the magnitude of this for her and her children. My many fingers are crossed for him in his recovery.

I struggled to get much work done after that news.
