Flood walls

I needed out at lunchtime, so I went for a walk along the riverside. They are making progress, but I just don't like the new multi-million pound flood walls. I think they look dated, and don't blend in with anything nearby. If they had to build them, surely they could have done something a bit more adventurous? If they have to stand out - and with concrete walls along the grassy riverside, it's hard not to - then why not make a statement?
