Blipping birds

I've learnt a lot today.

Taking photos of birds is like going shopping for jeans. You can't rush it, you can't do it when you're tired, grumpy or have children in tow. It's time-consuming and frustrating and sometimes you come home with a handbag instead.

This is my handbag.

Poor old Sal is really ill with some sort of flu bug and she was up all night, meaning that none of us got much sleep. A quiet day close to home was needed and luckily the weather was good enough for us to be able to enjoy the mill and the surrounding woods, stream and wildlife in today's sunshine. It was lovely to see the birds nesting and the first bees and butterflies of the year.
