In the distance
This is a very tiny bird, taken from a long way away. It's a New Holland Honey Eater, and we generally see a lot in the garden.
But this summer they have been missing, most likely because there haven't been as many bugs around.
So we are pleased to see them back, doing their aerial ballet, catching bugs every day. As honey eaters their diet is primarily nectar, but it's well supplemented with protein from flies, mosquitoes etc..
