hello : )

a change in perspective

There are days (like this past weekend) when I feel like my life is quite awful. I will spare the details because I instead want to share a delightful change photography has brought into my life...

Up until this past fall/winter I always bemoaned not only the colder weather in October/November, but also the loss of leaves on trees. It just seemed like without leaves on the trees the world was utterly lifeless.

Last spring when I got into photography (I dabbled in it in my 20s) I was quite taken by photographing sunlight streaming through leaves. It was really quite a thrill! So when autumn started rolling around I felt I had more to lose now that I was hooked on photographing leaves. I knew that when the trees where covered in snow, that would be something wonderful to photograph, but what about November and December when the trees are quite bare?

You may have guessed that I have discovered the joy of photographing tree silhouettes. : ) And so the thought just crossed my mind about what am I going to do when the trees are full of leaves? Yes, this is truly a silly thought!

I look forward to photographing leaves, flowers, the coastline, and all the new surprises ahead!
