Baubles

I'm finding this Christmas very bitter sweet. There is a calm-ness over the house that hasn't been there for more years than I care to remember. There is a feeling of safety and ease coupled with a sense of relief and then comes a thudding great lump of guilt.

I shall miss our daughter this year, and yet she still surrounds us at home. She's there in the photographs and memories that are everywhere. I just wish that we knew where it is all going and that we had some hope to give her. It is the very least she deserves.
