If you can't beat them...

Sorbus lutescens alba

A day of really nice weather, a pity I still had much to do on the bed linen for the holiday lodge. CC gardened and by afternoon I was able to get out and help.

While I have not been able to be active the garden has suffered so there is a lot to do.

When we moved in 32 years ago, this tree was little more than a broom stick. Each spring it amazes me by how quickly the leaves grow and open. As you can see they are also interesting in the colour and the fact they are covered in very fine downy hairs. Sorbus incidentally is the genus that Mountain Ash (Rowan) belongs to this looks nothing like that!

Fortunately the day was calm as I have tried to capture them before but the twigs move about so easily in the slightest breeze.
