Full Moon
Any photo of the moon, unless it is taken with a telescopic camera or seen through a telescope, never does it justice and unfortunately my photo is no different!
Just as you turned the corner onto my street this evening you couldn't miss this beautiful sight. The moon looked so close and full it was spectacular, it has been ages since I have seen it look so clear and close.
In the photo it looks bright and creamy like the sun in the morning sky, how funny that it is the opposite and is in fact the moon rising up over the sleepy houses into the dusky blue evening.
I remember seeing a full moon once when I was much younger out of my open attic window and I thought it was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen. I even viewed it through my mum's opera glasses to see the man in the moon and all the craters and it was just stunning. Tonight reminded me of that night some years ago and I still think the moon has that same mysterious beauty.
Work today was busy with schools off on mid-term break, and I stayed a short while back to help Eric set up his close and moves. I came home to witness this gorgeous moon before making buttery mashed potatoes for supper, which I ate whilst watching Grimm.
Today I am grateful of the awe inspiring beauty of nature and that it can still surprise me and make me stop to appreciate it.
