Watertower of Uppel

The water tower in Uppel-Almkerk was built at the end of the 40s of the 20th century.

The tower has a height of approximately 43 meters. The tower replaced the old water tower destroyed in 1945. He is inside the dike at the Old Uppelsedijk in the dike village Uppel and is clearly visible.

At the end of the Second World War, the so-called 'old' water tower bat inflated by the German army. The 'new' water tower bat is designed by Mr. Cees de Bever (born in 1897). The water tower dominates the silhouette of Uppel by its high altitude which is enhanced by its location on top of the dike. Until 2008, the tower was still used for the water supply of the Land of Altena. The tower contains a reservoir with a capacity of 600 m3.
