Life is a roller coaster ...


An adrenalin fuelled expedition today across the rolling dunes of Qatar in a landcruiser that seemed to fly across the snaking sands with consumate ease. (Our guide and driver, Mohammed, has been crusing these dunes since he was 14. He is currently resting from flying Airbus 330s for Qatar Airways and flies across the dunes. instead, with green gilled punters like us at his mercy!)

It was a remarkable day out in so many ways!

This is the view looking south into Saudi Arabia across the Inland Sea. This will be the nearest we get to KSA (Kingdom of Saudi Arabia) as their visa requirements are very strict and our November visit to the Holy Land, with accompanying passport stamps, precludes us going, even if we wanted to. It would be interesting to be in Israel today, though, as the Jews celebrate the Feast of the Passover.
