Deforestation...

Stayed the night in Lilongwe and was really tired so didn't get up at the usual hour of 5am! Had breakfast and set off on the journey to Mzuzu...... It always makes me sad when I travel through the Viphya mountains and see the deforestation that has happened over the past five years. When I first moved to Mzuzu this whole landscape was covered in trees, in fact I never knew there were hills in the distance. Since the rains have been relatively good this year, everything is now green though and it does look beautiful.

When I reached Mzuzu it was to torrential rain and mud and rivers in my garden! A nice welcome home!
