Marathon day

Today the 34th London Marathon took place, a splendid event in which our family has always taken a keen interest. The first London Marathon was held in 1981 and in those early years we helped to the marshal the wheelchair event: in more carefree days, security wise, it was possible to do that and take the family along too!

Mr MC himself has completed 4 London Marathons over the years and plans to do another when we reach retirement years and he has more time to train.

This year family friends took part yet again and dad and daughter finished in excellent times. We provided support in the form of a pre race pasta supper and drinks and sandwiches to celebrate afterwards.

I have no fab shots to put up, as this year I only watched the action on TV, so Missy has provided a substitute pic, looking for all the world as though she had completed the 26.2 gruelling miles herself!

I'm never a daily blip person but recently (since installing Windows 7 ?) I've had terrible trouble uploading and have given up on occasion - anyone else having problems or is it just me!
