Confluence

Peterborough, NH. A nice hour or so spent walking around this little town. Home of the MacDowell artist colony where artists of the "highest talent are provided an inspiring environment in which they can produce enduring works of the imagination". It's been in existence since 1907 and is the oldest such environment in the US. Over the years an estimated 6000 artists have come here, 61 Pulitzer Prize winners, The likes of Thornton Wilder, Aaron Copeland and Leonard Bernstein. Room and board are free and artists are permitted to stay for up to 2 months. I just liked the confluence of the different roof lines.
