Sunday = Funday!

Another day, another collage; it's been such a good day it was hard to choose just one photo to blip.

Mr A had a good lie in (I let him sleep while I got myself ready for the day ahead) then we went into town to the Accrington Food festival.

It wasn't quite what we expected, and we made the mistake of visiting with empty stomachs. We had thought there may be somewhere serving breakfast but sadly not, so we found ourselves at the burger bar (it was noon by this time so more lunch than breakfast!)

There was quite a selection...Mr A chose the zebra burger and I went for ostrich.
Zebra was a subtle flavour, which was a bit disappointing for Mr A, but the ostrich was lovely (I couldn't finish it all so Mr A happily obliged).

We bought some meat to take home too; bison burgers, camel burgers and horse sausages.
We also ended up with a selection bag of German sausages and chorizo and a punnet of mixed olives. I feel a tapas evening coming on....!

After our meat fest, we drove to Stockport for Mr A to do some work. As it was a public venue, I tagged along for the ride.

He was filming a ten pin bowling tournament, organised for & by the Manchester United Disabled Supporters Association (MUDSA)
Several of the reserve team players were meant to be attending to help with the presentations of trophies after the event, but unfortunately they were called away to travel down to London ready for the Spurs game tomorrow.

MUDSA were a lovely group of people and they hold quite a few social events throughout the year. A few had travelled up from Gloucester just to take part in today's bowling challenge.

They were a varied group, young & old with physical and mental disabilities, along with their families and carers, but obviously a close knit group.
I chatted to quite a few of them while Mr A was doing his stuff.

My favourite was Alex; a little boy in a wheelchair, aged about 6 (I didn't like to ask). He was so cute! One of the organisers told me he had attended his first Man Utd Christmas party last year and was overcome when all the first team players walked in! He had written (well, dictated to and written by Mum) letters to every player and he handed them out in due course.

Awards were given out at the end, and all the junior members were given a medal for taking part.

There was also a raffle for a signed football (we didn't buy tickets....just in case!).

So today's blip is from the food festival (top 4 photos) and the MUDAS event (bottom 2 photos).

That was a great weekend!!
