Miner's Lettuce

Not an actual lettuce, Miner's lettuce was included in salads or boiled like spinach to help prevent scurvy.

This is one of many native California plants we saw on our morning walk on the Reserve at Rancho Mission Viejo. The weather was cool and overcast making it great for walking and photography. A delightful way to start a Sunday.
