From Barrel to...

Shelves. We couldn't resist these whisky barrel shelves when we were on Skye. They had just arrived at the shop and were waiting to be put on display!

Apologies that you can't smell through Blip, but I can assure you that the aroma is really quite something - a good year I think!

The barrels they use start their lives as storage vessels for sherry or bourbon, before moving on to their better known role of storing whisky until it reaches maturity, a process which can take decades.

Can't wait to put the shelves up so we can truly appreciate them.
