The Lighthouse at the beach !
This is the secondary lighthouse on the point of Ayre in the North of the Isle of Man. This is in the middle of nowhere but a beautiful place to go. The cliffs of this part of the island are composed of sand. The high cliffs of Shellag are quite dramatic and very windy.
The little lighthouse which marks the point of Ayre was designed by Robert Stevenson for the commissioners of Northern Lights and built in 1818. The shingle is constantly on the move, as can be seen by the smaller lighthouse added 72 years after the original and now automatted, controlled from the remote central station.
This trip was really nice .Definitely we will go back to the Isle of Man . It is a small place but there are a lot of things to see.
We are going to catch a ferry soon tonight. We will spend sometime with the family again in Heysham. I hope I am not feeling worse . I was not feeling well today . I think I am catching a cold.
We went for a short walk on the beach and went back to the hotel to rest until now so I could blip a little bit.
Thanks a lot for the kind comments and stars . Glad you like the pictures.
Hope you had a nice weekend .
