Osprey update

Well here they are!

Not a brilliant photo, taken through a telescope.

We spent a very chilly afternoon monitoring the nest from about 500m away, they did not seem to notice us at all.

There was plenty of activity, the male brought in a fish, and then several pieces of useful stick to build up the nest.

The female seems to mostly wait around for him to impress her, and unfortunately his attempts at becoming a father have not appeared to be very successful so far.

However, they are a young couple with a lot to learn and there is still time for them to settle down to it.

A great result already for the nature reserve and the electricity board who funded the nest platform.
