fourteen

Advent Blip - Day 14
Sheesh... this is getting tricky now...
Cuboctahedron. Now there's a word that doesn't crop up in day-to-day conversation. A fourteen sided polyhedron is what it is. But you already knew that, didn't you?
Spent this evening feeling like a cross between Johnny Ball and Tony Hart with the kids trying to make these things. The plan was to make a few of them to hang on the tree. It took 45 minutes to make one, Euan's is still half done, Heather caved and went off to watch 'Ugly Betty'. There's one on the tree.
Mrs Delphwynd's reaction to our labours?
"Get that monstrosity aff ma tree!"
Phillistine.
PS: If you feel so inclined... you can have a go at making one yourself
