A day in the country
This morning we got up early, because the boys were running the Blue Bell Fun Run in Brenham, TX. This is a fundraiser for the high school in Brenham, TX and it is sponsored by the local ice cream factory. So after running the race, ice cream is waiting and you can eat as much as you want.
The boys are a bit out of shape. Youngest ran the 5k and placed 22nd in his age group. Oldest ran the 10k and got 3rd place in his age group and was the 28th overall finisher. Still not bad.
After the race we went downtown Brenham, because youngest had a school project in his Texas history class. We went to the visitor's center and took pictures of the old streets, buildings and court house.
Then we continued our tour to Washington on the Brazos. This is where the Texas declaration of Independence was signed. We went to the museum, visited the house where the declaration was signed and took pictures of the Blue bonnets.
On our way from Brenham to Washington on the Brazos we stopped to take pictures of a group of cows. I'm not sure what sort of cow this is, but I thought this was one of the cutest pictures of today. Of course my boys in the middle of the Blue bonnets was cute too, but I try to not post their pictures here without their consent. So the cow it is...
