TURTLE BAY
That really isn't the correct name for this locale (it's really the Rio Grande Nature Center State Park at the West end of Candellaria), I just called it that because if you look very closely on the logs sticking up out of the water in the lower right hand corner, there must be 20-40 full-size turtles sitting there...sunning. Additionally, since the shot is a landscape and encompassing the Sandia Range as well as the wetlands, you probably can't see the flock of geese that are on the little island in the middle. All in all, it is a beautiful little piece of heaven, right here in the heart of Albuquerque. I highly recommend you visit there if the opportunity presents, and be sure to take the kids. They will love it!
