Honey Bee

This honey bee was making the most of the small period of fine weather that we've had today. I love its cute eye lashes - something you don't usually see unless it's in a macro shot. Have a look at him in large - his tongue is down the middle of the flower.

The farm has greened up over the past week. We've had 69 mls of rain, and there is more to come. The soil temperature is 16 degrees C, so grass growth should take off, which will (hopefully) give us enough feed for the winter ahead.
