Hardwick Hall

"Hardwick Hall, more glass than wall."

The first stop on our epic Easter Holiday trip up the M1 to Yorkshire. A wonderful house, built in 1597 for Bess of Hardwick; what a woman.

Great first day: scones, cream and jam for breakfast at Hardwick Hall, 'make your own fun day' games in the grounds including jumping through hoops and knocking down (foam) walls, then another stint in the car to arrive at our holiday cottage in time for a nice pot of Yorkshire tea.

It's good up North.
