I'd have his pain in the blip of an eye.

My dad has had a terrible 2 yrs he was 1st diagnosed with diabetes,
1 yr later he loses his leg to gangrene after mere cracked skin on his heel. And now after a mild heart attack they attempt to put a stent in one of his arteries only to find it blocked and puncture a vein causing bleeding round his heart.
If it doesn't rain it hurricanes.
Were all dealt a hand in life some better than others I just hope his will get better.
We live in hope.
