Japan's God of Climbing

The Nagasaki Free Climbing Association had a special event featuring one of the WORLD's best climbers, Yuji Hirayama. Ask anyone who knows anything about climbing and they probably know his name.

The attendees were broken into three groups by ability and we climbed on problems he made for 2 1-hour sessions and he gave us tips. In between rounds he was available for pictures, autographs and just small talk. So I can say that I joked around with one of the world's most famous climbers, that's pretty cool.

We watched him climb too and it was very impressive! I feel very lucky to have met him and very motivated to get better!
