Estelas en la mar

Bocas del Toro

Day 6 (yesterday): Across the border to Panama, we spent 3 hours going through customs, 2.30 of which waiting for the insurance lady to come back from lunch and then for the insurance system to work, as policies can only be made online and if the line is down you are stucked.
Panama is an amazingly developped and modern country, as compared to Central American standards... But that was a good example of what we are thought in development classes: choose technologies adapted to the local context.
After a long road trip, we still had to take a boat to Bocas town and then a taxi to Monkey tree. And then cook dinner.
Romeo is amazingly keeping the rythm, and his dad is amazingly slowing down for him.

Day 7: Rainy day. Trip to Playa la Estrella where you can see... Guess what? Loads of marine stars. But they are disappearing, with people touching and removing them every day, inspite of the numerous warnings. One of them read " the universe is infinite, so as human stupidity. When all the stars ar gone, what will we come for?" I also loved one saying "La playa es de todos, la basura es suya: llévesela!"
Romeo was among those amazed by the stars and willing to touch them!
