Birding

I went to check on the arrival of migrants at Levenhall. Quite a day for new plumages and first-of-the-years. The first time I'd seen black-tailed godwits in summer red plumage, the first time I'd seen a Slavonian grebe with its smart golden ear-tufts, the first 4 swallows of the summer. Also, my first ever grey partridge (Perdix perdix). A happy boy today!

No willow warblers or blackcaps, yet, though there were a couple of chiff-chaffs bopping about in the trees and the skylarks were doing their song flights...
A few more photos here, if you're interested.
