FIGGY's Sporadic Blips

I don't have a head for heights so MOH climbed the tower of Spynie Palace to capture this view of the Moray Firth.

With more than 800 kilometres of coastline the Moray Firth stretches from Duncansby Head (near John o' Groats) in the north, to Fraserburgh in the east, and to Inverness in the west. It is one of the most important places on the British coast for observing dolphins and whales. the most common species being the Bottlenose Dolphin and the Harbour Porpoise with occasional sightings of the Common Dolphin and Minke Whales.

A very busy day today for MOH and I. We started off by visiting Balvenie Castle before going to Elgin Cathedral and finishing up at Spynie Palace. The sun shone for most of the day although it was very cold.

We finished the day with a late dinner at the Royal Tandoori in Aviemore - one of the best Indain restaurants we have eaten in.

Backblipped with 7.4.14 and 8.4.14 - please have a look if you have the time.
