The Pheonix

Now called 'The Phoenix Ale House', the Phoenix bar has arisen again from its ashes. Twenty or so years ago, this was the 'real ale' pub in Inverness. It then suffered a terrible decline, but now has been taken on by local publican , George McLean. This afternoon, the bar was bristling with cask conditioned ales, but not with customers. The oval 'island' bar is listed and the place still smells of paint.
