Our first persimmon
Persimmon trees are deciduous and can reach a height of 7 metres. The fruit of the persimmon is an absolute joy to look at. The persimmon fruit grows to about the size of an apple, starting out yellow, then turning a wonderful orange/red, as it starts to ripen from April to May or June, depending on the locality.
There are two types of persimmon and ours is the non-astringent type that can be eaten as soon as it colours up. This is the first one on our young tree.
