A day of worry!
Tuesday didnt get off to the best of starts, I didnt sleep too well & by 3am just as I had drifted off to sleep I was woken up by Alister been sick on the bed. I did what i could to clean it up & then curled myself up in the cot with him (its a cot bed so quite large & i can fit in quite easily). 20 minutes later he had been sick 3 more times so I stripped the cot & went down stairs to our leather settee & hard wood floor that are both easier to clean. It was about 5.30am before he stopped been sick & went to sleep & once he did I drifted off too.
Its fare to say that by the time Dave came down at 7.30am & Alfie half an hour later that I was shattered. Both kids got under the fur throw & watch TV for a little while.
I tried to keep myself busy doing a little tidying up, Alister seemed to have recovered from been sick & was full of energy & life (how do kids do that??)
After dinner Alister was absolutly knackered & I was really starting to feel it by then too, when I am that tired I like to get out in the fresh air to keep me from sitting down & snoozing. It wasnt raining for once, quite windy with sunny spells so I said we would have a walk down to the park. Alister fell asleep in the buggy on the way which ment I could give full attention to Alfie for once.
The photo was taken on the little roundabout which i'd spun a little too fast & he didnt like. All was happy, I'd spent time chasing him on the play equipment & we had done some climbing. I was on top of the climbing frame watching him climb a pole which he has many times when he fell from the top & hit his head quite hard a couple of times. He wanted to go after that, he was crying really hard & said his head really hurt. He had his swimming lesson at 4pm so I had to try & calm him down before then.
I got his swimming gear out & put them both in the car, I needed fuel so I drove to the petrol station & then off to the swimming baths. I started to get a bit worried about Alfie as he kept dosing in the car, he said he felt tired & his head hurt. I didnt know if I should take him swimming really & if I should turn round & take him to the hospital. I phone Dave to see what he thought & he said to carry on to the swimming lesson & just keep an eye on him. Alfie said he wanted to go swimming so I carried on driving there.
once at swimming he was fine, he didnt want to go que for his lesson but he never does, once in he love it. The bang to the head had obviously done him some good that day as he was star of his class. All the kids had to put their face in the water while swimming for 3 seconds & blow bubbles. Non of the others would do it properly but Alfie did it ever time. His swimming teacher was very pleased with him. She took his arm rings off too & helped him swim a width without. He told me he kept sinking but he did it, he was very happy with himself. At the end they all jump off the side of the pool one by one, its Alfie's favourite thing about swimming tho its obviously not all the kids favourite thing. Alfie is always impatient to jump off & this week as he had done amazingly well she let him jump in twice with no arm rings.
By the time we got home, all thoughts of the sickness & band head had gone :)
