Rescued But Not Saved

I saw this lizard on my back porch and looked at it and said to myself how cute then quickly looked around for Babyface and Mr Wiggles because if they were around I knew they would play with it and end up hurting it not meaning to but just because they are playing with it. They were no where in site then I see my son outside back out of the blue he went out the side door and who's playing with it but Babyface I quickly went to pick it up and put him on a bush thinking he was still alive it's tiny eyes were open and I thought I felt him breathe but after a closer look I notice some blood on its neck a deadly scratch was given. I know it's what cats do but if I can try and save a bird or lizard etc I'll try.
As I write this blip Mr Wiggles caught a tiny baby animal a ball of fur I managed to bribe Mr Wiggles and Babyface who was watching her brother the whole time away and into the house we threw a box over it and took it somewhere else it lived.
I'm sure everyone will be in shock no blip of Mr Wiggles or Babyface lol.
